For more formal wedding dinners, a full flatware table setting is available for as many courses as you can fit on your menu (see above).
Salad/Dessert Fork:
Use this smaller fork for light hors d'oervres, salad, or dessert. Also children may find this fork more easy to handle.
Dinner Fork:
The dinner fork is used at every event with food. This larger fork is used as an all purpose fork for every part of the meal at more casual events.
Dinner Knife:
The dinner knife is used whenever there are larger food items served that need to be made bite-size. This full size knife is an all-around knife with serrated edge for cutting chicken and meat (steak knives are also available). Need to butter a roll? This knife will easily do that as well.
Teaspoon:
The teaspoon is another piece of flatware that has many jobs. Use it for its name-sake (tea), or spoon sugar into your coffee and stir. As a dessert spoon, this flatware works perfectly.
Soup Spoon:
About the only job the teaspoon does not do well is soup. That is when you need to add another piece of flatware to your table setting. The soup spoon is larger, so it will hold more soup, chili, broth, stew, gazpacho, or whatever form of soup you have.
Butter Spreader:
When you are looking for a full place setting, the butter spreader should be included. The butter spreader is placed on a "bread & butter dish" and is used to butter your roll or bread and can be used to put butter or sour cream on a baked potato.
Oyster Fork:
Oysters on the half shell is why this stainless steel implement was invented. It can be used for any raw or cooked seafood, such as escargo. The oyster fork is also good for any small hors d'oervre that has to be speared.
Iced Tea Spoon:
This long handled spoon is used for iced tea, or beverage in a tall glass that needs to be stirred.
Demitasse Spoon:
For use with demitasse cups or for mid-day tea. A great way to do a tasting of many types of food.
Serving Spoon:
The serving spoon is used with family-style serving (where platters are placed on each table). Guests spoon food from the serving bowls or platters into their plate. This large spoon is also used at buffet serving stations where either the server or your guests spoon a serving of food into the plate. This spoon also allows you to spoon gravy or sauce.
Serving Fork:
The serving fork is used in the same way as the serving spoon above. The serving fork is good for picking up pieces of chicken or other solid pieces of food.
